OUR STORY
The head of the Department of Physical Education and Health is prof. Željko Lukenda, and with him at the department works prof. Nenad Zvonarek and seven demonstrators: Gea Vlašić, Luka Ilić, Fran Nevistić, Borna Hesky, Zvonimir Osičan, Luka Bačevina and Patrik Klasić. Physical and health education classes are held at several locations in the City of Zagreb, and include hiking tours on Sljeme, walking tours on the Sava embankment, basketball, football, handball, volleyball, chess, rowing, tennis and table tennis, as well as many others.
HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICAL AND HEALTH CULTURE
The Department of Physical and Health Education (KTZK) was founded in the school year 1982/1983. at the Institute for Labor Organization. The first teacher, head of the department was prof. Franjo Podvalej. In the summer semester of the school year 1982/1983 compulsory PE classes for first and second year students began to be taught. Students were able to choose from the following activities: basketball, football, table tennis and hiking trails, and then the choice of activities expanded to volleyball, swimming, aerobics and social dancing.
The Department organizes courses for taking the boatmaster's exam, windsurfing and skiing and diving courses. The Faculty organized the "Rowing Meetings of the Eight Faculties of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture of Croatia", the "Student Rally of the FSB" and the "First Student Championship of the University of Tennis". At the beginning of the Homeland War, classes were conducted according to the "Special Program for the Preparation of Students for the Defense of the Homeland". Classes were conducted daily with the help of four external collaborators and seven demonstrators. In 1994, Željko Lukenda, prof. and in 1999 Nenad Zvonarek, prof. Since 1997, the Department has separated from the Institute for Work Organization and become independent.
